My Marine, My Hero

LCPL Ryan Matthew is My Son, My Marine, My Hero. I am proud of him every single day. He humbles me, and stirs my heart to see that there are youth out there that still give a damn about this country and it's future. He is honest, loyal, and courageous.....a true American Hero

My Life

I am a Registered Nurse and have been married to my High School Honey for 21 years now. We have four children, two boys, two girls. Our oldest is Ryan...our Marine....our Hero. He has a younger brother (by 18 months) Daniel, 19, who is serving us proudly in the United States Coast Guard-OohRah! and his sisters are Kaitlyn, and Emilee. We all are very proud of Ryan & Daniel and their choice to serve our country. Our family is full of "servants." I guess it really didn't occur to us until a Marine buddy of Ryans brought it to our attention when he was visiting after boot. Dad (my hubby) is Fire Chief, and the rest of us too are firefighters, Me, Ryan, Daniel, & Kaitlyn as a Junior, and then there's my career as a nurse, and the boys as Military. So ...servants we are, glad, and blessed to be able to do it.

Got a bit out of order here, but this is from October when Ryan and Michael came home from Parris Island on leave. Matt, Daniel, and the Marines went to a Monday night Buffalo Bills game aginst the Dallas Cowboys. Michael & Ryan got to go on the field, meet players. They had an absolute FABULOUS time.

This is just a fun one of my son Daniel and my nephew Brandon goofin off at a school dance

More Family Pride!

Ryan was home last in early July for his Pre-deployment leave. We were able to spend about 12 wonderful daystogether with lots of friends and family around. He joined us for our July 4th parade, Marching with our Fire Department which he too was a member of prior to his enlistment in the Corps. This first picture shows PFC Andrew, also a member of our dept. and LCpl Ryan in front of the flagpole at our home prior to the parade. Chief Matt (my hubby) is laying on the ground at their feet to capture the awesome view!

Of course this is one of my favorites, because I've got my hands on my boy!!! Missing him like crazy these days while he's off in the 'sand'

Two VERY proud sisters. Kaitlyn who is Ryan's self proclaimed defender of all...like he needs it. He is her absolute hero and she will tell anyone who listens. Emilee is the 'baby' of the family, also quite proud of big Marine brother.

And here is my sweet, funny, son with a buddy who goes all the way back to little league baseball. Chip & Ryan are alot of fun to be around and can always make you laugh. He is Currently at Costal Carolina on a baseball scholarship!
